Experience Golfing in Central Hawke's Bay
Central Hawke's Bay has six great courses to play and enjoy.

Enjoy a varied choice of golf courses within an hour's drive of each other.  The awesome scenic backdrop of the Ruahine Range adds to the pleasure of playing the courses on the west side of the district.  Rippling rivers meander through the open countryside, and Porangahau's sea air and views are winners.

Waipukurau Golf Club

An 18 hole golf course situated on gently sloping river terraces, 7kms south west of Waipukurau on State Highway 2.

Waipawa Golf Club

A twelve hole course situated beside the picturesque Waipawa River.  Green fees $8, no club or trundler hite available.

First turn left south of the Waipawa Bridge, off State Highway 2 on Taiparu Rd..

Ongaonga Golf Club

Arguably one of the nicest nine hole courses in New Zealand.  Some of the holes on the picturesque course surround a cricket oval and picnic area.  Green fees $7 and $10, no club or trundler hire available.

Located one km south of the historic village of Ongaonga on State Highway 50, 20km west of Waipukurau and Waipawa.

Takapau Golf Club

A choice of two 12 hole courses!  An absolutely unique 100 year old golf course, providing an enjoyable round for the social golfer and a true challenge for the more serious.  Green fees $10, no club or trundler hire available.

Located 500 metres off State Highway 2 at Takapau.

Porangahau Golf Club

Porangahau Country Club is a nine hole course right on the beach.  A true links type course open to the elements with superb sea views.  No club or trundler hire available. Green fees $10.

Porangahau is 44kms south east of Waipukurau and the course and Country Club are situated at Porangahau (Te Paerahi) Beach.

Flemington Golf Club

An easy walking 9 hole country course with grazing sheep and well fenced greens.  Green fees $8, no club or trundler hire available.

The Flemington course is located  21 kms south of Waipukurau  at 648 Lake Road.  Turn off the Waipukurau - Porangahau Rd just south of the Wanstead Hotel.
